Both of the pieces you see here are produced using the previous sample. The darker version is produced using the front of the sample, giving a strong feel to the repeat. I also feel that the size of each unit within the repeat helps to give a more defined large stripe running from right to left with a less strong stripe down the repeat.
As for the second version this has a softer feel as it is produced using the reverse of the sample. Again I have manipulated the repeat size by reducing the size of the unit. this give a more balanced feel to the piece.
The repeats produced here are very simple, using the flip and rotate function within the Microsoft work program. I am sure I probably could produce some more dynamic ideas and repeats using either illustrator or Photoshop, however I have not fully developed the ability to remember each step required to produce work using said programs, it takes me all my time to remember how to add and correct the information I put on the reflective Blog!
having said this I do think they are quite effective if a little basic.
